In 2018 we saw a number of milestones reached - most notably John Sutton becoming the first Clubman to reach 300 first-grade games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Season 2019 will be no different - with a range of interesting and historical milestones ready to be recorded.
The Club
As the longest-standing Club in the NRL, the Rabbitohs require two more wins to record 1100 Club victories.
So far the Club has 1098 wins, 46 draws, 985 losses from 2129 games, with a winning percentage of 51.6%.
While there is no real telling when the Club could achieve this feat, it very well could happen in Round 2 against our old rivals the St. George Illawarra Dragons.
Wayne Bennett
While Head Coach Wayne Bennett will be in his first year at the helm of the Club, the most successful coach in the competition has achieved a number of milestones and records in his three decades of mentoring, with further achievements to occur in the Red and Green.
Bennett will coach his 825th match in Round 12 against the Parramatta Eels, with his next closest current contender being Craig Bellamy with 422.
Should the Red and Green claim 21 victories in 2019, it would mean Bennett will record his 525th victory in his career, further cementing his spot as the most successful coach in history.
Cameron Murray
Since debuting for the Club in 2017, local junior and fan-favourite Cameron Murray needs 16 more appearances to reach 50 games for the Cardinal and Myrtle in 2019.
With a spot up for grabs in the second row, there's every chance the highly-rated youngster could achieve this feat, and plenty will be hoping he can do so in Round 17 against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.
Damien Cook
After a break-out year in 2018, hooker Damien Cook could find himself making a few personal milestones in 2019.
Making his State of Origin and International debut in 2018, this season could see Cook notch up 100 Club career games, needing 26 appearances. It's certainly a possibility for the livewire hooker should the Rabbitohs make the finals, even if he plays all three Origin matches.
Cook can also reach 50 points for the Rabbitohs if he manages to score 12 more in 2019.
Adam Reynolds
Halfback Adam Reynolds enters his eighth year as a first-grader, having broken a number of Club records with his freakish point-scoring abilities with the boot.
The 28-year old needs five victories to notch up a century of wins - all in Red and Green - and needs to kick 53 goals to reach the 600-goal mark - becoming the second player in Club history to do so behind Club legend Eric Simms.
While he is still a couple of hundred goals short of usurping Simms' 814 goals, Reynolds does have a chance to break one of the legendary sharp-shooter's records this season.
Reynolds can become the first Rabbitohs player to score 200 points in five seasons, beating out Simms' four occasions reaching 200 points (1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970).
Reynolds also needs 92 more points to reach the 1300-point mark in first-grade, while he can reach the 1700-point mark in all grades with 84 more points.
Dane Gagai
Dane Gagai arrived at the Club in 2018, and with the Club reaching the preliminary final, the representative outside back played 25 matches in Red and Green, despite playing in all three State of Origin games for the Maroons.
Should he repeat his feat in 2019, he will reach the 50 game mark for the Club.
Another milestone for Gagai is reaching 50 career tries, who currently needs 14 more to reach the half-century.
The representative outside back also needs 46 more points to reach the 200 point mark for his career, and as a handy back-up goal kicker and noted try-scorer, it very well could happen in 2019.
George Burgess
George Burgess has gone from exciting young prospect to one of the cornerstones of the Rabbitohs' forward pack since making his first-grade debut in 2012, and in 2019 he could play his 150th match for the Club, needing 16 appearances.
In another possible milestone, if Burgess is involved in 18 victories this season, he will have notched up 100 for his career, something no Souths supporter would be opposed to witnessing.
Greg Inglis
Rabbitohs captain Greg Inglis has a number of milestones to achieve in 2019 at both Club and representative level, further cementing his spot as a legend of the game.
A noted try-scorer since his NRL debut back in 2005, Inglis needs one more try to reach 150 for his career, becoming just the 12th player in history to do so.
Should he score 6 tries in 2019, he will become the highest-ranked try-scorer to have played for the Rabbitohs, beating out Nathan Merritt's career record of 154, and entering the top ten of all time.
This should not be confused with Merritt's record as the Club's top try-scorer (146) as Inglis currently has 71 tries for the Club.
For the Red and Green, Inglis can reach 100 victories with 13 more wins and needs 15 more points to reach 300 to become the 22nd Rabbitoh to reach the milestone. He can also become the 30th Clubman to play 150 games if he makes six appearances, which could happen in the Good Friday clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
In the representative arena, we all know Greg Inglis has an impeccable record.
Having already topped the Queensland try-scoring charts with 18, the Maroons' captain has the opportunity to reach the 20 try milestone in 2019, becoming the first State of Origin player to do so.
If GI plays all three games of the series, he will go past Petero Civoniceva, Wally Lewis and Allan Langer to sit at fourth for all time State of Origin games played, with 35, just behind former teammates Johnathan Thurston, Cameron Smith and Darren Lockyer, and needs one more win to reach 20 State of Origin victories.
Talk about a big year to come.
John Sutton
John Sutton created history in 2018 when he became the first ever South Sydney player to reach the 300-game mark in the Club's 110-year span.
The milestones don't stop there, however, as the 34-year old Premiership-winning captain can record 350 Club games (first-grade, second-grade and third-grade) if he plays 13 more matches.
Alex Johnston
Try-scoring phenomenon Alex Johnston has always had a knack of finding the line, touching down in his NRL debut back in Round 8, 2014.
The 23-year old now has the chance to reach the 100 tries club if he manages to score 22, and would become just the sixth player in Club history to reach the century. With 101 tries he would take over Bob McCarthy's place as the fifth-highest try-scorer for the Club.
AJ also has the chance to record 50 tries at ANZ Stadium needing to touch down five more times, continuing his impeccable record of 45 tries in 50 games at the venue.
AJ can also record 150 Club games with 23 appearances, and could also reach 400 points in all grades with 44 more points, or 11 tries.
Mark Nicholls
Front-rower Mark Nicholls could play his 50th NRL game if he plays ten first grade games in 2019.
Should he play the first ten matches of the season, he will play his milestone match against his debut Club, the Canberra Raiders.
Sam Burgess
Slammin' Sam Burgess enters his eighth season at the Club, and after claiming numerous milestones to his name, season 2019 looks to be another where he can leave his mark on the Red and Green.
With 13 victories, Burgess can reach 100 career wins, and with 2 more points, he can reach 150 points for his career, having already scored an impressive 37 tries.
Sam can also record 250 top grade games in his career across NRL and Super League with eight appearances, which could happen in Round 8 against the Brisbane Broncos barring injury or suspension.
