Souths Cares is proud to recognise Patricia (Trish) Daniel, who has been honoured with the Order of Liverpool Award for her outstanding contribution to Aboriginal education and community advocacy.
Trish was formally honoured on Saturday at a ceremony held at the Casula Powerhouse, alongside a number of community leaders and award recipients. The event, hosted by Liverpool City Council, acknowledged local residents who have demonstrated exceptional service to the community.
A passionate educator and tireless advocate, Trish has dedicated her career to empowering Aboriginal young people. In her role as Aboriginal Education Officer at Busby Public School, she provides holistic support to Aboriginal students and works collaboratively with school staff to nurture the next generation of Aboriginal leaders.

Trish’s impact extends well beyond the classroom. For more than 15 years, she has volunteered her time to advance Aboriginal education at a local and statewide level through her involvement in various Aboriginal Education Consultative Groups (AECG). Throughout this time, she has held numerous leadership roles, including President of the Liverpool Local AECG and Treasurer of the NSW AECG.
Trish currently serves as a Steering Committee member of Souths Cares Liverpool Opportunity Hub and has provided valuable guidance and expertise in shaping the program’s service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
