Students from the Liverpool Opportunity Hub and the Nanga Mai Marri program took part in an exciting Industry Visit hosted at BodyFit Miranda. Students from South Sydney High School, Ashcroft High school, Holsworthy High School and Lurnea High school made the journey to Miranda, where they were welcomed into an immersive, hands on introduction to the personal fitness industry.
During the workshop, BodyFit staff shared insights into career pathways within the fitness sector, including study opportunities available through TAFE. They spoke openly about their own career changes, what motivated them to pursue fitness, and the personal and professional rewards that come with helping others achieve their health goals. Students learned about the positive impact fitness professionals can have on their communities, as well as the health benefits that come from working in such an active environment.
Following the discussion, students were taken on a guided tour of the gym before jumping straight into a high energy spin class. Their enthusiasm was clear as they powered through the session, encouraged by the instructors and each other. Afterwards, students were given the opportunity to explore the gym floor, participating in both weight training and cardio workouts.
