Latrell Mitchell made every appearance count for South Sydney in 2026. Playing at centre, he scored 12 tries in 12 NRL games and finished the season with 134 points, highlighted by a four-try performance against the St George Illawarra Dragons that ranks among the best individual efforts of the Rabbitohs' year.
His standout performance came in round seven against the St George Illawarra Dragons at Accor Stadium. Mitchell crossed in the sixth and 30th minutes before completing a four-try haul with two more in the closing stages. He finished with 22 points, four line breaks and 11 tackle breaks in the 30-12 victory, while also passing 1,300 career points and 50 tries for South Sydney.
A week later against the Melbourne Storm, Mitchell showed another side of his game, landing a two-point field goal and five goals in a dominant 48-6 Rabbitohs victory.
Across his 12 NRL appearances, Mitchell scored 12 tries, kicked 42 goals and produced 10 try assists and 11 line breaks. He also broke 55 tackles and ran for 1,399 metres at an average of 116 metres per game.
A back injury and related calf strain interrupted his season following round 11, before Mitchell worked his way back onto the field against the Gold Coast Titans in round 26. He then returned to the starting side for the final round against the Sydney Roosters, playing the full 80 minutes at centre, scoring a try and kicking five goals in South Sydney’s 50-20 victory at Allianz Stadium.
Mitchell remained at centre for the Elimination Final against the Newcastle Knights at Allianz Stadium, adding a try assist and a goal in his final appearance of the campaign.
He finished 2026 with 194 first-grade appearances, 120 career tries and 1,365 points. His South Sydney tally now stands at 98 games and 686 points, including 229 goals, which places him fourth on the Club’s all-time goal-kicking list.
With 100 games and 700 points for South Sydney both within reach, Mitchell heads into 2027 with more significant milestones on the horizon.
