Jamie Humphreys: 2026 Year in Review

Jamie Humphreys continued to develop as a valuable member of South Sydney’s squad in 2026, showcasing his versatility and playmaking ability across 18 NRL appearances. In his second season with the Club, Humphreys started six games at halfback before transitioning into a utility role from the interchange, providing the Rabbitohs with another attacking option throughout the campaign.

Humphreys began the season in the number seven jersey, making an immediate impact with his kicking game and ability to create opportunities for his teammates. Against the Wests Tigers in round three, he produced 310 kicking metres and a try assist, helping guide South Sydney around the field.

He followed that performance with an impressive 80-minute display against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in round five, recording 419 kicking metres and another try assist. His ability to control field position and take pressure off his teammates was a valuable asset during his time in the halves.

As the season progressed, Humphreys embraced a role from the interchange, bringing fresh energy and creativity to the Rabbitohs’ attack. His versatility allowed him to provide cover across the spine while continuing to make an impact when called upon.

One of his standout contributions came in South Sydney’s emphatic 50-20 victory over the Sydney Roosters in round 27 at Allianz Stadium. Coming off the bench, Humphreys provided two try assists as the Rabbitohs finished the regular season with an impressive win over their traditional rivals.

Across the campaign, Humphreys recorded six try assists, three line-break assists, 2,535 kicking metres, 718 running metres and 11 tackle breaks. He also made a significant contribution defensively, completing 425 tackles at 91.8% efficiency.

His defensive work rate was particularly evident against the North Queensland Cowboys, where he made 41 tackles, before producing another strong effort with 49 tackles against the Penrith Panthers during the bye period.
