Keaon Koloamatangi played every game for South Sydney in 2026, his final season with the Club. Across 25 NRL appearances he ran for 4250 metres and made 785 tackles, and even reached his 150th NRL game for the Club in Round 27.
He set the tone from the opening round, running for 253 metres in South Sydney’s 40-30 victory over the Dolphins. Koloamatangi went beyond 200 metres on four more occasions during the regular season, against the Melbourne Storm in round eight, Brisbane Broncos in round 15, Parramatta Eels in round 17 and Newcastle Knights in round 19. Against the Knights, he played the full 80 minutes and added 35 tackles in a 26-24 victory.
Koloamatangi started 20 games at prop throughout the year, while also spending time in the second row and coming off the interchange. He averaged 170 running metres per game, including 1,528 post-contact metres, while adding 50 tackle breaks and 17 offloads. Defensively, he made 785 tackles at 93.12% efficiency and crossed for tries against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in round 14 and Gold Coast Titans in round 26.
Round 27 brought a significant milestone, with Koloamatangi and David Fifita both celebrating their 150th NRL appearances as the Rabbitohs closed the regular season with a 50-20 victory over the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium. All 150 of Koloamatangi’s matches had come in the Red and Green.
A week later, he produced one final huge effort for South Sydney in the Elimination Final against the Newcastle Knights at Allianz Stadium. Starting at prop and playing the full 80 minutes, Koloamatangi ran for a season-high 231 metres in his 151st and final appearance for the Club.
Koloamatangi will join the St George Illawarra Dragons from 2027, departing South Sydney after 151 games as a homegrown Rabbitoh and international forward. The Club thanks Keaon for his contribution to the Red and Green and wishes him and his family all the best for the future.
