On this day in 2006, Roy Asotasi signed with the Rabbitohs!
Arguably the greatest signing in our Club's history, Asotasi at the age of 24, had already won a competition and had two seasons of Test football under his belt.
But what Asotasi brought most importantly to the Club was the 'star power' to make South Sydney an attractive place to go to. Big names such as Nigel Vagana, Dean Widders and Michael Crocker quickly followed, along with Sam Burgess and Greg Inglis a few years later.
Captain courageous and a forward-leader, Asotasi helped birth a period of success for South Sydney and this winning culture went a long way to achieving the 2014 Grand Final some years later.
