The Rabbitohs’ NSW Cup team has taken victory over the Canberra Raiders in Canberra on Sunday in round 14, with the Jersey Flegg Cup team going down to the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs’ NSW Cup open men’s team defeated the Canberra Raiders 24 points to 14 at GIO Stadium in Canberra on Sunday, securing their third win of the season.
First half tries to winger Haizyn Mellars and centre Fletcher Myers gave the Rabbitohs an eight-four lead at the half time break, before piling on three more tries in the second half to second rower Henry O’Kane and a double to winger Ammaron Gudgeon.
Mellars, Penitani, Gudgeon, fullback Jye Gray, five-eighth Ashton Ward, halfback Lewis Dodd, hooker Ryan Gray, middle forwards Davvy Moale and Toesami Toevai, as well as second rower Jacob Host were rated the Rabbitohs’ best in this solid win.

On Saturday at Raiders Belconnen, the South Sydney Rabbitohs Jersey Flegg Cup under 21s men’s team went down to the Canberra Raiders 38 points to 22.
The Raiders led 20-6 at half time with the Rabbitohs’ points coming from a try to winger Jacob Fong and conversion to fullback Charlie Poynton.
In the second stanza, the Rabbitohs scored tries through a double to centre Daniel Wright and a further try to Poynton, but the Raiders were too strong on home turf, claiming the two competition points.
Poynton, Fong, second rower Joshua Alhazim, lock Yahya Ayache and middle forward Daniel Lua were the Rabbitohs’ best on Saturday.
