Bangarra's Sheltering Inspires LOH Students

On June 3rd, a group of LOH students had the opportunity to attend Sheltering, a powerful performance by Bangarra Dance Theatre. The Industry Visit provided students with an enriching cultural experience, showcasing the company’s renowned blend of contemporary dance, storytelling, music, and First Nations perspectives. Throughout the performance, students were captivated by the emotional depth, athleticism, and creativity displayed by the dancers, gaining a deeper appreciation for the art of dance and its ability to communicate important stories.

Many students left the theatre feeling inspired by what they had witnessed on stage. Several shared that the performance opened their eyes to the possibilities of a career in the performing arts, with some expressing a newfound interest in pursuing dance after finishing school. Students spoke enthusiastically about the dedication, skill, and passion demonstrated by the performers and reflected on the hard work required to succeed in the industry. The experience not only broadened their understanding of professional dance but also encouraged them to consider future pathways in creative and performing arts. The Industry visit was a memorable and motivating experience that will continue to influence students as they explore their aspirations beyond the classroom.
