Souths Cares is pleased to announce three Rabbitohs women’s players have joined the charity’s Gambling Education Campaign to promote anti-gambling and harm minimisation messaging through the reach and profile of Souths Cares and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Rabbitohs NSW Women’s Premiership players Jaminey Weatherall and Charlize Barrett, along with Rabbitohs Tarsha Gale player Aliyah Gordon, have backed the initiative. The trio join Rabbitohs men’s players Cody Walker, Latrell Mitchell, David Fifita and Tallis Duncan, who have already proudly supported the Souths Cares campaign.
The project has been built on the South Sydney Rabbitohs being the first NRL club to partner with Reclaim the Game and take a stance against the over-saturation of gambling advertising in Australian professional sport.
Jaminey Weatherall is a proud Kamilaroi and Anaiwan woman with connections to Bundjalung Country who joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2023 through the Tarsha Gale squad before progressing to the NSW Women’s Premiership squad in 2024.
Jaminey Weatherall"I’m super keen to play my part in helping prevent and reduce gambling harm for our young people. I passionately believe that sports such as Rugby League are more enjoyable and entertaining without having a bet on the game."

Charlize Barrett is a proud Yanyuwa woman from the Gulf Region in the Northern Territory who played her junior football in Townsville before joining the Rabbitohs last year. Charlize plays as a prop in the Rabbitohs NSW Women’s Premiership team.
Charlize Barrett"I’m grateful to be selected as an ambassador for Souths Cares’ gambling education campaign and understand the impact gambling is having across many communities, including First Nations communities. I’m proud that I can use my voice to support education for our Mob and create change."
Aliyah Gordon is a proud Gooreng Gooreng and Bundjalung (Githabul) woman who was born and raised in the Rabbitohs heartland. Aliyah joined the Rabbitohs female pathways teams four years ago in the Lisa Fiaola squad and is currently a wing/centre in the Tarsha Gale squad.
Aliyah Gordon“It’s an honour to be involved in the campaign, which addresses an important issue that is causing harm in our community. I’m looking forward to inspiring young Mob to make positive choices and lead by example.”
The campaign will run throughout 2026, with ambassadors creating and sharing key messages to increase awareness of gambling harm and promote positive alternatives to gambling.
Souths Cares Gambling Education Program is proudly supported by the NSW Office of Responsible Gambling.
