Jai Arrow Nominated for 2025 Ken Stephen Medal

South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow has been nominated for the 2025 Ken Stephen Medal, recognising his outstanding commitment to community service throughout his NRL career. A proud leader on and off the field, Jai has consistently gone above and beyond to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Throughout Jai Arrow’s NRL career (2016–present), he has consistently committed to community and charitable work, spanning across three NRL clubs – Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans and now the South Sydney Rabbitohs. His passion for giving back is deeply rooted in his upbringing and personal experiences, particularly supporting his mother through her Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis and travelling as a 15-year-old on a community bus for cancer patients. These early experiences shaped his sense of gratitude, humility, and commitment to service.

In Queensland, Jai supported hospital visits and raised funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, while since joining South Sydney in 2021, he has taken on a leadership role with Souths Cares. He actively participates in Junior League Clinics, facilitates Wellbeing Workshops, supports inclusion campaigns, regularly visits hospitals and hosts families at Rabbitohs events to lift the spirits of children facing health challenges.

Jai also goes beyond his club commitments. As a Support Worker and Athlete Ambassador for What Ability, he supports high-needs clients and advocates for disability inclusion. Since 2023, he has volunteered with Vinnies Food Vans, working night shifts to provide food relief to those experiencing homelessness or hardship. He has also travelled long distances to support Close the Gap Day in regional NSW, standing in solidarity with First Nations communities.

Jai frequently donates personal items, time, and money to causes without seeking recognition. He donates to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, offers gear for fundraising, and brings young fans into the sheds post-game, living out the philosophy that “he would give the shirt off his back.”

His impact is clear – from heartfelt testimonials to his broad reach across youth and vulnerable groups. His positivity, leadership, and consistency in giving back have inspired his teammates and uplifted thousands in the community. Jai exemplifies the NRL’s values: inclusive through his support for diverse communities; positive in his energy and passion; united in bringing teammates and charities together; and disciplined through injury setbacks without ever stepping back from his community commitments.

Despite personal and physical challenges, Jai continues to prioritise helping others – volunteering after hours, supporting remote communities, and drawing on his own experiences to connect with those facing adversity. His selflessness and genuine care make him an outstanding role model and a deserving nominee for the Ken Stephen Medal.
