Rabbitohs re-sign Tallis Duncan for the 2028, 2029 and 2030 seasons

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to announce the contract extension of utility Tallis Duncan for a further three seasons, at least until the end of the 2030 season, today.

Duncan, 24, made his NRL debut with the Rabbitohs in round 13, 2023, against the Raiders, going on to play 73 first grade games so far in his career.

Duncan, Rabbitohs first grade player number 1190, has played two games for the Indigenous All Stars, two games for the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII, and one Test match for Malta in his representative career to date.

Duncan started his NRL career as a middle forward but has proven himself to be equally as comfortable playing on the edge as a second rower or centre, being named in the RLPA Dream Team as a second-rower in 2026.

Rabbitohs Head of Recruitment and Retention, Mark Ellison, says Duncan’s retention is a positive for the Club.

“Tallis is one of the most exciting prospects in the NRL and we’re delighted that he sees his future here at this Club,” Mr Ellison said.

“He has shown that he has the desire, the willingness to work hard and the character to, not only play at the NRL level, but to excel at that level.

“He’s had a taste of representative football but we can all see that he will play at the higher levels of the game.

“He comes from a wonderful family and we’re excited to see the heights Tallis can reach in his career.”

Tallis, who is named after Rugby League legend and former Rabbitohs forwards coach, Gorden Tallis, is delighted to have re-signed with the Rabbitohs.

“I’m really happy to be staying at Souths. I love this club and this is my home,” Duncan said.

“I’ve grown a lot since I first came to the Club and I’m grateful for everything Souths has given me. I’m looking forward to continuing that journey here.

“Putting on the Souths jersey means a lot to me, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
