Rabbitohs re-sign Sean Keppie for next two seasons

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to announce the contract extension of prop forward Sean Keppie for the 2027 and 2028 seasons today. Keppie, 28, made his NRL debut with the Sea Eagles against the Eels in round 25, 2019, playing 134 first grade games so far in his career, 55 of which have been for the Rabbitohs since he joined the Club in 2024. Keppie, Rabbitohs first grade player number 1194, is a former Australian Schoolboys representative, that has earned a regular position in the Rabbitohs’ middle forward rotation this season.

Rabbitohs Head of Recruitment and Retention, Mark Ellison, says Keppie is one of the forward leaders at the Club.

“Sean has put his best foot forward at our Club, particularly this season, and he has earned his new contract,” Mr Ellison said.

“He has become one of the leaders in our forward pack and has adapted his game to the faster game being played in the NRL this year.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the continued improvement that he is showing each week and to him continuing his good form over the next two seasons.”

Keppie is delighted to have re-signed with South Sydney.

“I’m really happy to be staying here at Souths. It really feels like home to me and my family,” Keppie said.

“We have a tight bond as a team, I really value Wayne (Bennett) and the coaching staff here for helping me play my best footy, and I feel like there is more to come in the next few years.

“The Members and fans here are first class, they are always very supportive of our team, and I feel like we can bring them the success they want over the next few seasons.

“I love it here at Souths and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve for the rest of this season and in the years ahead.”
