Senior Pathways Weekend Wrap | Round 6, 2026

The Senior Pathways teams had a mixed weekend in Round six, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs splitting results across two competitions at the James Hardie Centre of Excellence. The Knock On Effect NSW Cup side delivered a commanding performance against the Eels, highlighted by a four-try haul from Edward Kosi, while the Jersey Flegg Cup side faced a tough afternoon against the same opposition. There were plenty of positives to take from the weekend as both squads continue to build through the 2026 season.

The Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Rabbitohs produced an impressive display at the James Hardie Centre of Excellence, running in seven tries to claim a comprehensive 38-16 victory over the Eels. Edward Kosi was the story of the afternoon, crossing for four tries to put on a scoring display that helped South Sydney pull away from their opponents. Matthew Dufty, Moala Graham-Taufa and Thomas Fletcher also found their way to the tryline, ensuring the Red and Green were never short of attacking threat.

Bayleigh Bentley-Hape was reliable with the boot, slotting five goals from seven tries to round out a polished team performance. The 22-point winning margin reflected the Rabbitohs' control across the full 80 minutes.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 38 (Edward Kosi four tries, Matthew Dufty, Moala Graham-Taufa, Thomas Fletcher tries; Bayleigh Bentley-Hape five goals) defeated Eels 16 at James Hardie Centre of Excellence.

Jersey Flegg Cup

It was a difficult outing for the Jersey Flegg Cup side, who went down 30-4 to the Eels at the James Hardie Centre of Excellence. The Rabbitohs found it hard to generate consistent attacking momentum against a well-organised Eels outfit, with the visitors building a strong lead through the middle stages of the contest.

Charlie Poynton provided a bright spot for South Sydney, crossing for the Rabbitohs' lone try to ensure the Cardinal and Myrtle got on the scoreboard. While the result was not what the team was after, there will be valuable lessons to take from the contest as the young squad continues to develop.

Eels 30 defeated South Sydney Rabbitohs four (Charlie Poynton try) at James Hardie Centre of Excellence.

A tale of two results for the Senior Pathways teams in Round six, with the NSW Cup side's emphatic victory a real highlight. The Jersey Flegg Cup group will look to regroup and bounce back in Round seven. Both squads return to action next weekend as the Rabbitohs continue to push forward through the 2026 season.
