‘Win and Your In’ Finals Equation for Jersey Flegg as Women Claim Finals Berth

The South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Jersey Flegg Cup team are in a ‘win and your in’ finals position ahead of their last round match this Saturday 29 August against the Wests Tigers.

The male pathways teams will hit the road, heading to Lidcombe Oval on Saturday. The NSW Cup men’s team will play the Western Suburbs Magpies for the Sattler-Kelly Cup at 2pm with the Jersey Flegg Cup under 21s men’s fixture against the Wests Tigers to be played at 12pm.

The South Sydney Jersey Flegg Cup team currently sit in sixth place on the ladder, two competition points behind the Tigers who sit in fifth spot, however the red-and-greens have a superior for-and-against differential. This means that the winner of this match will claim the vital two competition points that will see them qualify for the Finals, with the loser bowing out of contention for the Jersey Flegg Cup title.

The Sattler-Kelly Cup started in 2019 and is named in honour of two legends of the South Sydney and Western Suburbs clubs, John Sattler and Noel Kelly. The winner is determined by the aggregate scores of the two regular season NSW Cup games played each year between South Sydney and Western Suburbs, with the Rabbitohs leading the 2026 version by eight points courtesy of a 20-12 win over the Magpies in round three. The Rabbitohs have won the Sattler-Kelly Cup four times with the Magpies claiming the trophy twice.

The NSW Women’s Premiership game against the Central Coast Roosters is set to commence at 10am on Saturday 29 August at Redfern Oval. The Women’s team currently sits in second spot on the ladder and have already qualified for a top two finish in the minor premiership ahead of the commencement of their Finals Series next weekend.
