The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squad for their round 15 match against the Brisbane Broncos to be played this Thursday 11 June at 7:50pm at Accor Stadium, a match at which the club will celebrate the career of recently retired player, Jai Arrow.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Wayne Bennett has named Tallis Duncan in the centres to replace the injured Campbell Graham this week, elevating Euan Aitken to the starting side in the second row. Lachlan Hubner will start at lock replacing captain Cameron Murray who is on State of Origin duty. Prop John Radel and centre Dayne Jennings are potential NRL debutants against the Broncos, having been named in the top 19.
Bronson Garlick is in line to play the 50th NRL game of his career, having made his debut for the Storm against the Eels in round one, 2023.
In a tribute to the recently retired player, Jai Arrow has been named in the number 23 jersey for this clash with the Broncos, the Club at which he made his NRL debut in 2016. Jai played 24 games with Brisbane before leaving for the Gold Coast Titans for the 2018 season. Jai played 56 games for the Titans over three seasons before joining the Rabbitohs for the 2021 season. Arrow went on play 98 NRL games for South Sydney including the NRL Grand Final in 2021 and was awarded the George Piggins Medal as the Club’s best and fairest player just last season.
The Rabbitohs will be celebrating Arrow’s career at Thursday night’s clash with the Broncos and encourage all Members and supporters to attend the game and celebrate his career alongside Jai.
Arrow will ring the Rabbitohs Legacy Bell as his teammates and the opposition form a guard of honour before entering the field of play in an emotional game day moment in the lead up to kick off.
Members and fans will also have the opportunity to take home a limited edition Jai Arrow poster from this game, as well as a Jai Arrow face mask, all celebrating his wonderful football career.
THANK YOU JAI #1166 will be painted on the field-of-play, highlighting Arrow’s first grade player number at the Rabbitohs. Supporter group, The Burrow, will also unveil a giant tribute banner to Arrow before kick off.
The Rabbitohs will be running a 50/50 raffle at the game and online, allowing Members and fans from all clubs the opportunity to help raise money for Jai and his family as well as research into motor neurone disease. There is a minimum prize of $30,000 for the winner, with 50% of all 50/50 raffle tickets sold going to Jai Arrow and his family as they prepare to fight this insidious disease.
