The 2025 NSW Wheelchair Rugby League NSW Cup Grand Final was nothing short of a spectacle, as the undefeated South Sydney Rabbitohs capped off a dream debut season with a 52–38 victory over the St George Dragons at Menai Indoor Sports Centre.
In front of a passionate crowd, both teams delivered an end-to-end battle that showcased the very best of Wheelchair Rugby League — speed, skill, and resilience.

South Sydney’s historic inaugural campaign ended in style, claiming the Premiership and going undefeated throughout the season. Inspirational captain Diab Karim was the standout, bagging 4 tries and 9 goals in a dominant display that earned him the Jeremy Doyle Medal for Player of the Match.
He was well-supported by a strong team effort:
- Liam Luff crossed for two tries at crucial moments
- Rick Engles added a double of his own
- Edge chipped in with a well-earned try to seal the result
The Dragons pushed hard, with Cory Cannane scoring five tries in a standout performance, while Stephan Rochecouste and Jacob Friedrich added one each. Craig Cannane slotted five goals to keep them in the contest, narrowing the margin to just two points at one stage.
But the Rabbitohs held firm, showing composure under pressure and finishing with a late burst to close out the match.
Final Score:
South Sydney Rabbitohs 52
St George Dragons 38
Jeremy Doyle Medal: Diab Karim (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
This win not only marks a major milestone for the Rabbitohs but also highlights the growing strength and excitement of Wheelchair Rugby League.
