This week Souths Cares engaged over 700 Children and Youth, delivering Holiday Clinics at Federation Forrest in Mt Druitt and Heffron Park in Maroubra.

The Holiday Clinics are provided free-of-charge and catered for children and youth between 5 and 15 years of age. In 2023 Souths Cares has expanded the Holiday Clinic initiative to include art workshops, cultural workshops, wellbeing workshops, football clinics and a BBQ lunch.

Participants had the opportunity to develop their non-contact Rugby League skills, learning about hand and ball coordination, endurance performance and movement. Both Clinics were accompanied by a workshop discussing nutrition, the benefits of physical activity and how to warm up and warm down to avoid injuries.

It's been a big week hosting our Holiday clinics in Western and Eastern Sydney and it was great to see such a big turn out. Our key messages this week were about the benefits of physical activity, eating healthy and most importantly having some fun during the school holidays

The new holiday clinic format is proving to be popular, with over 300 participants at the Mt Druitt Clinic and over 400 participants at the Maroubra Clinic.

Elysha Williams is a mother of three children who attended the Mt Druitt clinic and explained her children enjoyed the day.

"We loved the Souths Cares clinic, and the kids enjoyed all activities hosted on the day. It was a great chance to participate in a Souths Cares initiative", Elysha said.

Souths Cares Holiday Clinics are proudly supported by Sydney Civil.
