Senior Pathways Weekend Wrap | Round 7, 2026

The Senior Pathways teams had a mixed weekend in Round seven, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs claiming a hard-fought victory in The Knock On Effect NSW Cup before the Jersey Flegg Cup side faced a tough outing against the Dragons at Redfern Oval. There were plenty of encouraging individual performances across the weekend, with several players putting their hands up at crucial moments.

The Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Rabbitohs secured a gritty 28-22 win over the Dragons at Accor Stadium in a contest that remained competitive throughout. Jordi Mazzone crossed for two tries to be the most prolific scorer on the day, while Bayleigh Bentley-Hape contributed both with ball in hand, crossing for a try, and off the boot, slotting four goals from the kicking tee. Jay Kirk and Latrell Siegwalt also found their way over the tryline as South Sydney built enough of a buffer to hold off a determined Dragons outfit.

The six-point margin reflected a tight affair, but the Red and Green showed composure when it mattered to come away with two competition points.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 28 (Jordi Mazzone two tries, Bayleigh Bentley-Hape, Jay Kirk, Latrell Siegwalt tries; Bayleigh Bentley-Hape four goals) defeated Dragons 22 at Accor Stadium.

The Dragons proved too strong on the day, but the young Red and Green outfit will take the lessons from this match and look to bounce back next weekend.

Dragons 44 defeated South Sydney Rabbitohs 16 (Noah Waldock, Samuel Taylor, Devonte Vaotu'ua tries; Charlie Poynton two goals) at Redfern Oval.

A win in the NSW Cup keeps the Rabbitohs tracking well in the senior competition, while the Jersey Flegg Cup side will regroup ahead of Round eight. With plenty of young talent continuing to develop across both squads, there is much to look forward to as the season progresses. The Cardinal and Myrtle will be back in action next weekend looking to build on the positives from Round seven.
