The Senior Pathways teams had a mixed weekend in Round five, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs claiming a commanding victory in The Knock On Effect NSW Cup before the Jersey Flegg Cup side fell short against the same opponent. Matthew Dufty produced a hat-trick as the NSW Cup side ran in six tries to cruise past the Bulldogs, while the Jersey Flegg side fought hard but could not contain Canterbury-Bankstown in a 10-point defeat at Redfern Oval.
The Knock On Effect NSW Cup
The Rabbitohs delivered a clinical performance at Accor Stadium, racing to a 36-10 victory over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Matthew Dufty crossed for three tries to lead the scoring, while Oliver Lawry, Jay Kirk and Tim Johannssen each touched down to round out a six-try haul for the Red and Green. Bayleigh Bentley-Hape was sharp with the boot, slotting five goals from six tries scored to help South Sydney build an imposing scoreline.
The 26-point margin was a statement result for the Cardinal and Myrtle, who controlled proceedings from start to finish. The win keeps the Rabbitohs tracking well through the opening rounds of the season.

Jersey Flegg Cup
The Jersey Flegg Cup side put up a spirited fight at Redfern Oval but went down 20-30 to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Corbin Alvarez, Assariah Lenoy Sam, Daniel Wright and Hadley Smith all crossed for tries as the Rabbitohs scored four four-pointers of their own. Charlie Poynton added two conversions with the boot.
Despite the loss, there were encouraging signs from the young Rabbitohs, who scored four tries and remained competitive throughout. The side will look to regroup ahead of Round six and build on the positive moments from this contest.
