Two Rabbitohs players were injured in last weekend’s game against the Canberra Raiders with Jye Gray and David Fifita sidelined for a number of weeks. However, the Club will also see the return of a number of players to its ranks in coming weeks.
Gray sustained a grade three AC joint sprain, an injury which can have an unpredictable timeline to return to play. Gray is aiming to return to the field in four weeks time.
Fifita sustained a hamstring tear in the game against the Raiders and is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Last week saw the successful return of Talanoa Penitani from a hamstring tear suffered in the first pre-season match against the Dragons. Penitani played 40 minutes in NSW Cup last week and is eligible for full selection this week.
Half Ashton Ward (syndesmosis), Jonah Glover (jaw) and Euan Aitken (leg) are all scheduled to return in the next couple of weeks.
