Rabbitohs Wellbeing wraps up a successful term 1 engaging more than 7000 student

Term 1 has marked an incredibly strong start to the year for Rabbitohs Wellbeing, with a total of 7,242 students engaged across our school visits. The breadth and impact of delivery this term highlights the ongoing commitment to improving health literacy, wellbeing, and physical activity outcomes for young people Australia wide.

A key highlight of the term was the successful delivery of two regional tours, visiting the Southern Highlands and the Central Coast. These tours provided a valuable opportunity to connect with students and school communities outside of metropolitan areas, where access to structured health and wellbeing programs can often be limited. Across both regions, students participated in engaging and interactive sessions focused on physical activity, mental health, nutrition, and resilience.

The regional tours were further strengthened by the involvement of Rabbitohs NRL and pathways players, who played an important role in bringing the program to life. Their presence not only enhanced student engagement but also reinforced key messages around goal setting, teamwork, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For many students, particularly those in regional communities, the opportunity to interact with elite athletes from similar backgrounds served as a powerful reminder that their aspirations are achievable.

From the moment the session began, our K–6 students were captivated. There was something impactful and powerful about hearing important safety and wellbeing messages from admired NRL role models. The messages landed in a way that felt meaningful and authentic. The excitement, the engagement, and the conversations that continued beyond the visit, showed just how well the presenters connected with our students. I highly recommend this program to schools to enhance their PDHPE or wellbeing programs.

Back in metropolitan areas, Rabbitohs Wellbeing continued to deliver its in-school programs, supporting students through curriculum-aligned workshops that promote positive health behaviours and social-emotional learning. The consistency of delivery across diverse school settings has ensured that students of all backgrounds have access to high-quality wellbeing education.

Across all programs this term, there has been a strong emphasis on creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where students feel empowered to participate, ask questions, and build confidence. Whether through physical activity sessions, classroom-based learning, or player-led discussions, the focus has remained on equipping young people with practical tools to support their overall wellbeing.

Term 1 has been an incredible success, with thousands of students engaging in our programs and embracing the opportunity to learn, move, and grow. Seeing the impact firsthand, whether it’s building confidence, improving health literacy, or simply getting more young people active, has been really rewarding. Our regional tours were a standout, allowing us to connect with communities that don’t always have the same access to these opportunities, with the added bonus of students meeting some of our NRL and pathways players!

As Term 1 comes to a close, the achievements of the Rabbitohs Wellbeing team reflect not only the scale of delivery but the depth of impact within each school and community visited. With strong foundations set, the program looks ahead to Term 2 with continued momentum, aiming to reach even more students and further strengthen its impact across the country.
