On this day in 2014, John Sutton passed Bob McCarthy for most first grade games for the Rabbitohs with 212.
It was an iconic scene when Bob McCarthy greeted John Sutton at the end of the 'guard of honour' in round five of 2014 at a ground he knew all too well - having plenty of Premiership success at the SCG in 60s and 70s.
Sutton would go on to play five more seasons finishing his career on 336 games and is remembered for Captaining the Premiership-winning Rabbitohs later that year.
A Souths Junior, he still holds the record for most Rabbitohs games played.
