Tyrone Munro has been awarded with the NRL's Provan-Summons Medal at tonight’s Dally M ceremony.

The Provan-Summons Medal is awarded to the player deemed by the Dally M judges to have displayed the true ‘spirit of the game' through their actions and conduct on-field. The winner of the prestigious medal is measured against four values: respect, honesty, bravery and sportsmanship.

Tyrone sadly lost his mother and uncle just days before the Rabbitohs were set to face the Penrith Panthers in Round 26. Despite the personal tragedy, Munro made the courageous decision to go ahead and play, honouring his mother and uncle with a powerful on-field performance, scoring two tries.

Rabbitohs CEO, Blake Solly

"Tyrone’s actions in the face of such adversity showed true triumph, courage, and the sportsmanship qualities that made him a standout for the Provan-Summons Medal. Fans of all NRL clubs, not just Rabbitohs Members and fans, respected and admired the character Tyrone showed that night. On behalf of everyone at the Club we congratulate Tyrone on this award, and we all look forward to seeing his career continue to develop at the Rabbitohs next season”.

Tyrone was presented with his award at the 2024 Dally M Medal ceremony, held at Randwick Racecourse earlier tonight.
