Latrell Siegwalt named in France World Cup squad

Rabbitohs back Latrell Siegwalt has been named in France's 23-man squad for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

Siegwalt will make his international debut at the tournament, which opens on Thursday, 15 October, and concludes with the Men's Final at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Sunday, 15 November. Eligible through his paternal grandfather, who lives in Walgett, he earned the call-up after meeting France coach Laurent Frayssinous in Sydney earlier this year.

France's group games

Siegwalt played eight NRL matches for South Sydney in his debut season, finishing with two tries, six try assists and 28 goals from 39 attempts for 64 points. He averaged 117 running metres a game and produced eight line-break assists. Mostly used in the centres at first-grade level, he also covers the halves and fullback, and has been successful in the halves for the Rabbitohs NSW Cup side.

The 25-year-old was named the Club's John Sattler Rookie of the Year, adding to his 2024 QRL Rookie of the Year award and his Player of the Tournament honours for Walgett at the 2023 Koori Knockout.
