Jai Arrow Claims 2026 Provan-Summons Medal
Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow has been awarded the NRL's Provan-Summons Medal at tonight's Dally M Awards ceremony at The Cutaway in Barangaroo, Sydney.
The Provan-Summons Medal is awarded to the player deemed by the Dally M judges to have displayed the true spirit of the game through their actions and conduct on-field. The winner of the prestigious medal is measured against four values: respect, honesty, bravery and sportsmanship.
Arrow's year has been defined by courage that reached far beyond the football field. In May, he announced his immediate retirement from the NRL on medical grounds following a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND), having undergone months of testing and treatment. Through everything that followed, Arrow brought the Rabbitohs team, the Club and the wider Rugby League community together like never before, while facing the battle of his life with honesty, dignity and strength.
Late in the season, with support from the NRL and the Rugby League Players Association, Arrow suited up for two further matches, taking the field for the opening moments against the Gold Coast Titans in Round 26 and against the Sydney Roosters in Round 27. Those appearances allowed him to bring up 100 NRL games for South Sydney, becoming only the 67th player to reach that milestone in the Club's history. It was a display of toughness and inspiration that showed not even MND can stop people from achieving their goals and living their dreams.
Earlier this month at the Red and Green Ball, Arrow was crowned Bob McCarthy Clubperson of the Year for the second straight season, recognition of the same bravery and leadership that has defined his 2026 campaign. He had already won the George Piggins Medal in 2025 as South Sydney's best and fairest, along with the Souths Cares Award and The Burrow Appreciation Award in recent seasons.
Arrow embodies the South Sydney spirit, both on and off the field, and he is a worthy winner of the 2026 Provan-Summons Medal.
