Cameron Murray Represents Rabbitohs at Indo-Pacific Sea Power Conference

South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray joined an expert panel at the Indo-Pacific Sea Power Conference 2025, held during the Indo Pacific Exposition in Sydney, to discuss the growing influence of Sports Diplomacy.

The session, chaired by Vice Admiral Mark Hammond AO, RAN, Chief of the Royal Australian Navy, brought together leaders from across Australian sport and government, including Brisbane Broncos coach Michael Maguire, AFL’s Head of New Growth Participation and Programs James Ceely, Sydney FC Vice Chairman Sebastian Gray, DFAT Director of Public Diplomacy Kathryn Ridderhof, and BRIG Phil Winter, Director General ADF Sports.

The Chief of Navy emphasised the resilience that sports can play in advancing the readiness of personnel.

Whether it’s rugby matches between allied nations, military personnel competing in the Invictus Games or joint sports training during international exercises, these moments can strengthen relationships in a way formal meetings often cannot.

The discussion showcased the power of sport to connect people across cultures and professions, and highlights the continued strong relationship and partnership between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Royal Australian Navy.
