The 2023 NRL Draw has been announced with the Rabbitohs set for a blockbuster regular season from round one right through to round 27. With games centralised in Sydney but with matches scheduled from Perth to Auckland, there is something in this draw for everyone that supports the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs!

Breaking down the draw
The Rabbitohs will play their first six matches of the 2023 season in Sydney, starting with three away games to the Sharks, Panthers and Roosters, followed by two blockbuster home games against the Sea Eagles and Storm. This Sydney block of games is rounded out by the annual Good Friday clash with the Bulldogs in round six.
The round four clash with the Sea Eagles sees former Rabbitohs Head Coach Anthony Seibold take on his former Club at Accor Stadium, and in round five, the Storm will return to Accor Stadium for the first time since the Rabbitohs defeated them 24 points 12 in round 19 last season in what promises to be one of the biggest games of the season.
The Rabbitohs then make a home-away-from-home up north with three games at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium in the next four games, with away matches against the Dolphins in round seven, Broncos in round nine and Storm in round ten as part of the NRL’s Magic Round. In round eight, the Rabbitohs will host the defending premiers, Penrith, where they will look to turn the tables on the men from the foot of the mountains.
The Rabbitohs then play three home games in Sydney against the Tigers, Eels and Raiders, with the venue for the Eels game still to be confirmed. This will be a great opportunity for ticketed Members based in Sydney to get out and support the team as we approach the half-way mark of the season.
The Rabbitohs then travel to the Gold Coast to take on the Titans and Kogarah to play the Dragons before enjoying their first bye of the year in round 16.
Two home games at Accor Stadium against the Cowboys in round 17 and the Bulldogs in round 19 are split by a trip across to New Zealand to take on the Warriors in Auckland, before the Club has it’s second bye in round 20.
The Rabbitohs then pack their bags for a month of travel because of the unavailability of home venues in Sydney due to the FIFA Women’s World Cup being played in Australia. The touring Rabbitohs will play five games straight away from their Sydney base including a home game against the Broncos at Sunshine Coast Stadium in round 21, an away game against the Tigers in Tamworth in round 22, a home game against the Sharks in Perth in round 23, a home game against the Dragons in Cairns in round 24 and an away game against the Knights in Newcastle in round 25.
Round 26 sees the Rabbitohs enjoy their final bye before a massive clash with archrivals, the Roosters, on home turf at Accor Stadium in round 27!

The Rabbitohs will have a big block of games in Sydney to start the season with the Club not having to travel far for the first six weeks.
To counterbalance this, the Rabbitohs will be on the road from rounds 21 to 25 with games on the Sunshine Coast, Tamworth, Perth, Cairns and Newcastle in consecutive weeks. And let’s not forget the round 18 clash with the Warriors in Auckland and three games at Suncorp Stadium and one on the Gold Coast earlier in the year.

The Rabbitohs are taking a home game to Perth with the support of VenuesWest and Venues Live. This will the second game of a double header with the Dolphins hosting the Knights in the earlier game. Our game will kick off at 7:35pm AEST, which is 5:35pm local time.
What We Don’t Get With This Draw
There is a lot of travel for the Rabbitohs in 2023, however South Sydney doesn’t play away games in Canberra, North Queensland or Melbourne this upcoming season.
The Rabbitohs only play the Raiders, Cowboys, Titans, Sea Eagles, Knights, Eels, Warriors and Dolphins once throughout the regular season.
Each Club will also get three byes each throughout the year, with the Rabbitohs not having a bye until round 16. They will, however, have all three byes in the final 11 rounds which could provide a good freshen up before what we hope will be a long a fruitful Finals campaign.
The Rabbitohs will be without their players that are selected for State of Origin duty in round 13 against the Raiders and round 19 against the Bulldogs.
The Rabbitohs also only have two five-day turnarounds throughout the season.
Pre-Season Fixtures Set to Start the Year On Right Note
The NRL has confirmed the Rabbitohs will play two pre-season fixtures in preparation for the 2023 premiership campaign.
The first match will be the feature game of a Central Coast Stadium double header against the Sea Eagles on Friday 10 February at 8pm.
This will be followed by the annual Charity Shield match against the Dragons to be played for the fifth time at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Stadium, supported by Mid-Western Regional Council.
The Rabbitohs travel to the Central Coast with the support of Venues Live, and to Mudgee with the support of Mid-Western Regional Council.
