Rivalry Rounds from One to Eight

The Rabbitohs will take on some of their biggest rivals over the first eight rounds of the season, including some blockbuster home games!

Round one will see Anthony Milford and Adam Reynolds take on their former clubs when the Rabbitohs take on the Broncos in Brisbane. Round two sees the Rabbitohs on the road again against the Storm in Melbourne, looking to avenge last season’s eight-point loss at AAMI Park.

Round three is our first home game of the season and who better to take on in front of our Sydney-based Members for the first time since June 2021, than our bitter rivals, the Roosters, in the first leg of the Ron Coote Cup.

This will be followed in round four with the Grand Final replay against the Panthers in Penrith. Before consecutive home games against the Dragons at Stadium Australia and the Bulldogs at home in the annual Good Friday clash.

The Rabbitohs then take on the Tigers in ANZAC Round before heading up to Central Coast Stadium to take on the Sea Eagles in a home game on a Friday night.

Eight rounds – five games in Sydney – four home games – big rivalry games.

Does the start to the season get any better than that?

Grand Final Replays

I think like most South Sydney Members and supporters, we’ve all gone straight to the draw to see when we can exact revenge against the Panthers following last season’s Grand Final result.

We take them on in round four at Penrith on a Friday night, but it will be the return bout in round 23 that will be particularly poignant in both clubs’ seasons. Round 23 – Thursday 18 August – 7:50pm – Stadium Australia.

Let’s fill the Stadium with red and green as would have happened if the 2021 Grand Final had it been played in Sydney!

The Ron Coote Cup

The other matches that all Members and supporters circle when the next season’s draw is released are the two regular season clashes with the Sydney Roosters!

We don’t have long to wait to get our mitts on the ‘Chooks’ with the first leg being played at home in round three. Then the return clash will be in round 25, the final round of the regular season, which is scheduled to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, but could be moved to the brand new Sydney Football Stadium in South Sydney’s backyard of Moore Park if construction is completed.

Members Cups Runneth Over
