The South Sydney Rabbitohs are excited to announce the signing of forward Ethan Lowe for the 2019 season after he secured an immediate release from his contract with the North Queensland Cowboys.
Lowe, 27, has played 108 NRL games for the Cowboys since making his debut for the club in 2013. He was part of the Cowboys team that won the 2015 NRL Premiership and was selected in the Queensland Emerging Origin squad in 2016. He was also in the starting lineup for the Cowboys for the 2017 Grand Final against the Storm.
Lowe has a high work rate and is an accomplished goal kicker with close to an 80% success rate over his six-year NRL career.
Rabbitohs General Manager of Football, Shane Richardson, says Lowe will be a great addition to the Rabbitohs’ forwards stocks.
“He has a number of strings to bow which will benefit our squad and he is an edge back rower who will create more competition for spots in our back row throughout the season.
“He will have an opportunity to put his best foot forward under Wayne (Bennett) here at Souths and we’re all looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in red and green.”
