Known as the original 'Wonder Winger', Harold Horder was one of South Sydney's first legendary players.

A Junior with South Sydney Kinkora, Horder rose to first grade at a meteoric rate.

He made his first-grade debut at eighteen in the last round of the 1912 season, playing in the centres and touching down for a try - something that would occur more often than not in his storied career.

Horder played a significant role in the Club's Premiership success in 1914 and 1918, cementing himself as both a try-scorer and a handy goal kicker. He led the competition in tries (19) in 1914 and points (89 and 87 respectively) in both seasons.

So great was his try-scoring prowess, in 1917 he became the first South Sydney player to score five tries in a match and did so twice in the same season - both times again North Sydney - in Round 5 and Round 12 that year.

There have been a number of South Sydney players to have scored five tries in a match, but none have ever managed to do so more than once, solidifying Horder's place as one of the best wingers in Club and Rugby League history.

Setting records seemed to be natural for Horder, the perfect example being in 1915 where he scored 60 points in two games for New South Wales against Queensland in that year's interstate series, a record which still stands to this day.

The speedster also topped the try-scoring charts for the Club on seven occasions, a feat usurped only by Benny Wearing and equalled by Nathan Merritt.

Horder finished his South Sydney career with an incredible 102 tries to his 104 matches and currently sits fourth on the Club's all-time try-scoring list.

In 1931 he was inducted as a Life Member of the NSWRL, and in 1967 earned Life Membership with the Club.

Appropriately, Horder was named on the wing in both the South Sydney Dream Team in 2004 as well as the South Sydney Juniors Team of the Century in 2008.

When it comes to Wonder Wingers, Harold Horder just might be the best of the lot.
