Turner keen to build his back row skills

South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Kyle Turner is ready to take on new challenges in 2018 and wants to be a go-to guy across the paddock.

Having mixed it up in 2017 by playing both in the front row and his more accustomed back row, Turner is keen to keep on progressing in the engine room.

“It’s just about getting my fitness up and making that transition from the back row to the front row.”

“I don’t actually mind the middle, you get your hands on the ball a bit more,” said Turner.

“You do the nitty gritty stuff, a lot of tackling. It’s just about getting my fitness up and making that transition from the back row to the front row.

However, the talented forward is equally happy to play wherever the team needs him to play most.

“I’d definitely like to but I don’t want to over play my hand either you know, I’ll see where I fit in and adjust myself accordingly,” he added.

Moving into his fifth season of NRL, the 25-year-old is moving into the senior ranks in the squad and is willing to lend a helping hand to any of the young players who are looking for guidance.

“If I can help the younger boys I definitely will but I won’t go too overboard, it’ll just be a combination of little things, which is what counts at the end of the day.”

With the new season just around the corner and plenty of pre-season matches to prepare for, Turner will be another reliable option for Anthony Seibold’s team and the man himself can’t wait to get stuck in.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge and I'll play wherever Seibs wants to me to, it’s going to be great.”
