Catching Up With Craig Wing

Former Rabbitoh Craig Wing stopped to chat with Rabbitohs media during the Old Boys march at Allianz Stadium on Friday night.

"It's really good to be back," said Wing.

"This is probably one of my favourite stadiums to ever play at. It's local and Ionly grew up around the corner."

Wing, an exciting Souths junior, played 71 games for the Rabbitohs in two stints at the Club (1998-1999 and 2008-2009). He debuted for Souths in a difficult time just before we were excluded from the competition and it's something that left a mark on Wing.

"I was absolutely devastated - everyone was absolutely devastated - I was just a kid," said Wing.

"I had actually just signed a three-year deal and I remember being at the studios at Channel 9, thinking we were going to get the green light and it came out and I was stuck for words,

"I had no idea what I was going to do because I hadn't thought past playing for the Rabbitohs."

Now working in wealth management, Wing is putting his efforts into advising the current generation of NRL stars on how to set up their futures.

Aside from financial advice, Wing also has a few footballing tips to share with younger players.

"Always do your best and don't take the media too seriously," smiled Wing.

"It's the same as the advice I got when I was a kid."
