Rabbitohs utility Latrell Siegwalt has been crowned the John Sattler Rookie of the Year award winner for season 2026, presented by captain Cameron Murray at tonight’s (Saturday’s) Red and Green Ball.
Siegwalt, 25, joined the Rabbitohs this season, making his NRL debut against the Sharks in round ten, going on to play eight matches, scoring two tries and kicking 28 goals for a total of 64 points.
Siegwalt also racked up six try assists, 20 tackle breaks and two line breaks in his debut season, making 102 tackles and running for an average of 117 metres.
The Rookie of the Year award is named after one of South Sydney’s most inspirational players of all time in the form of the legendary John Sattler. Sattler captained the Rabbitohs to four Premiership victories in five years from 1967 to 1971, including the famous 1970 Grand Final in which he played for 77 minutes of the game with a jaw broken in three places.
Congratulations to Latrell Siegwalt on winning the John Sattler Rookie of the Year award for season 2026.
