Rabbitohs vs Roosters at Allianz Stadium tonight is SOLD OUT

The South Sydney Rabbitohs versus Sydney Roosters match to be played at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park is officially sold out ahead of a special night to be played in Rabbitohs heartland.

Over 40,000 Members and fans are expected to pack Allianz Stadium tonight with all seating sold out prior to the match, and it is expected that stadium members will also fill all members seating at the match.

Tonight’s game will celebrate the 100th NRL game for South Sydney for modern-day legend, Jai Arrow, who has been granted special dispensation by the NRL and RLPA to ‘play’ in this game following his diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease. In what will be a very emotional and special moment, Arrow will lead the Rabbitohs team out onto the field to the song You’ll Never Walk Alone, then be substituted after the opening whistle, registering the 100th NRL game of his career with the Rabbitohs, a tenure which began in the 2021 season.

This game will also see South Sydney junior Keaon Koloamatangi play the 150th NRL game of his career, all of which have been in the red and green of the Rabbitohs, as well as the 150th NRL game in the career of fellow forward David Fifita.

The final round match will celebrate the Rabbitohs returning to the Club’s heartland with Moore Park part of South Sydney’s catchment area. The Rabbitohs will play four home matches at Allianz Stadium next season and five in the following three seasons as part of a new agreement struck with Venues NSW.

Rabbitohs Old Boys will lead a march of Members and fans along Driver Avenue from the Sydney Cricket Ground (Gate B) to Allianz Stadium tonight, signifying the Club’s return to Sydney’s premier rectangular stadium in South Sydney heartland. Members and fans should meet outside Gate B of the Sydney Cricket Ground at 6:45pm, to then march towards Allianz Stadium for the big game.

Rabbitohs CEO, Blake Solly, said this will be a very special night for everyone connected to Rugby League.

“Tonight’s match will be a watershed night for our Club, the team, our Members and our fans, with us now able to announce a sell out before gates open for the match,” Mr Solly said.

“When we campaigned to return to Allianz Stadium in Moore Park as a home venue, this is one of the reasons why. So many of our Members and fans indicated they wanted us to return to our heartland, especially for big games such as this one, against our neighbours with some very special milestones to celebrate.

“We don’t always see eye-to-eye with the Roosters, but we also know that celebrating Jai tonight will bring us all together. On behalf of the Rabbitohs we would like to thank the Roosters for their support of Jai since his diagnosis, and we thank them for supporting this concept of Jai reaching 100 NRL games for our Club.

“The scenes on the Gold Coast last Saturday will not be forgotten by anyone who attended the stadium or who watched on TV. Tonight we will see that atmosphere amplified even further with the ‘house full’ sign going up.

“We look forward to welcoming our Members and supporters back to Allianz Stadium tonight and we look forward to a very special night both on and off the field.”
