The Australian Kangaroos have named a 23-man squad for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup, with four South Sydney players selected.
Captain Cameron Murray, Latrell Mitchell, Keaon Koloamatangi and David Fifita will wear the green and gold at the tournament, which opens on Thursday, 15 October, when Australia meets New Zealand at Allianz Stadium. That clash is the tournament opener. The Men's Final is set for Sunday, 15 November, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Cameron Murray returns for a second World Cup after helping Australia win the 2022 tournament. The Rabbitohs captain has 10 Tests for Australia, dating back to the 2019 Oceania Cup. At the 2022 World Cup he scored five tries, including one in the 30-10 Final win over Samoa, and he has since represented Australia at the Pacific Championships in 2023 and 2024.
Latrell Mitchell is also a 2022 World Cup winner. He started at centre through that tournament and scored five tries, including two in the Final against Samoa. Mitchell has nine Tests for Australia, with his Kangaroos career stretching back to the 2018 tour.
Keaon Koloamatangi earns his first World Cup selection after making his Test debut in the 2025 Ashes series. He played all three matches off the bench as Australia defeated England 26-6, 14-4 and 30-8.
David Fifita will represent Australia at a World Cup for the first time. He previously played for Tonga at the 2022 tournament, featuring in four matches and scoring a try against Wales. On Saturday he captained the Australian Prime Minister's XIII to a 60-10 win over the PNG Prime Minister's XIII.
