After three weeks sidelined through suspension, Rabbitohs Captain Greg Inglis is excited to get back onto the field with his teammates and believes a solid performance is necessary by his team.
Inglis concedes it was difficult watching from the sidelines for three matches after his suspension for a shoulder charge on Josh Dugan in Origin III. However, the Rabbitohs skipper has his mind focused on the challenge ahead rather than past results.
"It's been a bit hard sitting on the sidelines for the last three weeks," said Inglis.
"I'm looking forward to getting down to Melbourne and putting a good display on as a team effort.
"I think we owe it to ourselves and our fans as well."
Inglis is looking for an improvement on the fundamental skills on Saturday when we clash with the Melbourne Storm.
"Stating the obvious - it's possession and our defence," said Inglis.
"If we fix those two things up and we better ourselves as a team and individually, well then we put our best foot forward for the rest of the season."
Inglis and the Rabbitohs will play this Saturday's game against the Melbourne Storm as a part of the Crown Resorts Charity Challenge to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia.
Crown will kick off the fundraising by donating $20,000 to Ovarian Cancer Australia as well as an additional $1,000 for every try scored on the night.
Crown Resorts Foundation Charity Challenge Cup will be presented to the winning captain after the game in a special on-field presentation that will include a final donation to Ovarian Cancer Australia from Crown Resorts.
