Michael Maguire fronted the Rugby League media on Thursday ahead of Saturday night’s clash against the New Zealand Warriors.
Commenting on last week’s performance, Maguire said he was pleased with how the team performed and believes they have the drive to claim a win this weekend.
“The way the boys performed and the way they defended was very pleasing,” he said.
“It’s really about the pride of the boys. They’ve been working very hard to be able to achieve that sort of performance.
“We know we’ve got it in us, it’s just a matter of making sure we turn up and do it for that 80. We got that 80 out, we just weren’t quite able to get in that extra time.”
Maguire trusts the game will be a physical encounter but believes his side is ready to take on the home team.
“How you perform each week is how you judge so it’s something that I know that this group hold very high,
“We’re playing against the Warriors who are a big team and no doubt it’s going to be a very physical game so we are going to have to make sure that our bodies are on the line,
“They do throw the ball from side to side and their two halves are straightening very hard into the line so defensively you’ve got to make sure you’re right ready to go.”
