Rabbitohs Captain Greg Inglis says the trust that has been building within the playing group during this season is helping his team overcome adversities when they face them.
Inglis points to his team’s reaction in the absence of Adam Reynolds after the halfback came off for a mandatory concussion test in the 25th minute of Monday night’s encounter with the Cronulla Sharks.
The Rabbitohs adapted to find a new dynamic to wrestle the win at our last home game with Inglis pitching in to produce some monstrous bombs.
“Obviously with Adam going down – he’s our main kicker,” explained Inglis.
“Cody and Sutto have got great kicking games on them. I just wanted to ease the pressure of them and take that control,
“That’s just the trust that we have in each other, within our playing group. I’ve played with Sutto for a number of years now and Cody for this season,
“I think it just comes down to trust and working well with each other.”
Maguire added his praise to the playing group and the way they handled the challenges thrown at them during Monday night’s match.
“The boys really stood up,” said Maguire.
“It’s once again my senior players really showing the way to go which is allowing our young guy like Angus Crichton, Jack Gosiewski and Zane Musgrove to grow.
“I’ve got a lot of young guys coming through in the Club which is great for where we’re going.
“Obviously that’s off the back of our strong leadership.”
