John Sutton has called on his team to come out "full of energy" in their round three clash with the Newcastle Knights after what he admits was a pretty ordinary start for the Rabbitohs last week.
Sutton was impressed by the Knights 34-26 victory over the Titans in their round two match and is expecting a good clash at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.
"I thought they played some pretty good football," said Sutton.
"They were full of energy and this week we need to come out full of energy to match them."
After the Rabbitohs notched their first victory of their 2017 campaign, Sutton says there needs to be improvement as we head into our next few rounds. The Rabbitohs veteran declares the competition in the squad is key to pushing the team forward.
"At the Club - it's all about performance. Everyone knows that so you have to perform to stay in the team," said Sutton.
"It's good to get our first win but it's early on in the season and we just need to keep improving."
