Rabbitohs utility, Cody Walker, has called for increased focus and concentration in the lead up to his sides Round 16 clash against the Penrith Panthers on Friday night.
In the wake of his sides Round 15 loss to the Parramatta Eels, Walker believes that there must be a significant improvement in both team and individual performances moving forward.
With the Red and Greens struggling to string together 80 minutes of high quality football for the majority of the season, the utility back has highlighted the importance of being consistent for the duration of match.
“We’re obviously not getting the results. The efforts there, but we can’t seem to put it together for 80 minutes,” said Walker.
“I think its individual concentration levels and focus at that moment in time,
“We’re not holding the ball for longer periods of time and we’re dropping it and letting the other team get the ball.
“We’ve got to really want to hold the ball and it comes from that individual at that moment in time.”
Despite the finals looming closer, Walker is adamant that his side is working on progressing week to week rather than looking too far ahead.
“We’re not too worried about the end of the season at the moment, we’re just worried about week to week performances and this week it’s the Penrith Panthers.”
