Turner Privileged To Play Last Country Origin

Kyle Turner feels privileged to have taken part in the last City vs Country Origin match despite his team ending up on the wrong side of the 20-10 scoreline yesterday (Sunday) in Mudgee.

Turner played his junior football with the Coonabarabran Unicorns and was moved by the support he received from family and friends based in the central north-west town after his call-up to Craig Fitzgibbon's squad.

"It was fantastic - a great bunch of blokes and great to be a part of," said Turner.

"Through the week we gave sort of touching stories, a bit of background of where we're from. I had a lot of family and support from Coonabarabran come to the game so it was really touching and I felt like I did them proud."

With the Rep Round weekend behind him, Turner is focused on helping the Rabbitohs turn their season around when they clash with the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium this Friday.

"We haven't performed for Souths," said Turner.

"Definitely looking to improve on that (last week's) performance, take what we can and get the 'W' this week.

"The boys just need to bring the right attitude. We've spoken about it during the week, our attitude wasn't right last week and that needs to change. They're a great side, the Tigers, we just need to put an 80 minute performance on them."

Although Turner picked up a knock in the City vs Country Origin match he says Rabbitohs Members have nothing to fear.

"It (coming off) was just a precautionary thing more than anything. The knee's fine, we'll test it out tomorrow in training and see how it goes but it all looks positive from now."
