Playing the majority of the season at Lock, Sam Burgess has a massive presence in the middle of the field. The English International made 703 tackles to top the Top Five Tacklers of 2017 - an average of 33.4 tackles per game or a tackle every 2.08 minutes he was on the field.
Angus Crichton followed closely behind with an average of 31 tackles a game to tally 682 for the season. A massive effort from the young second-rower.
Naturally, Hookers Robbie Farah and Damien Cook made the Top Five with only 30 tackles seperating their defensive efforts in 2017.
Thomas Burgess slotted in between the Hookers to claim fourth place.
