36,105 metres were run by your Rabbitohs over the course of 2017, an improvement of 934m on 2016. We've broken down who the main metre-eaters were in the Red and Green for 2017!
For the second year running Sam Burgess claimed top spot on the list with 2988m from 339 runs. The Englishman missed three games this year which would easily have pushed him over 3000m for the season if played.
Johnston again features in our top five list, the pacy winger often finding space on the edges and breaking the opposition line. Johnston averaged the most metres gained per carry of our top five with 10.3m per carry.
Crichton enjoyed a breakout year with the Rabbitohs and ran a close third while Thomas Burgess made hard metres up the middle with 2606m made without a single line break.
