Stats breakdown - Cowboys

It was close, it was tantalising and it was damn nerve-wracking but in the end, the South Sydney Rabbitohs got over the line thanks to these key stats.

Raining offloads

It may have been difficult viewing due to the misty conditions at Barlow Park and it would have been even more difficult to play in but that didn't stop the Red and Green throwing the ball around like it was a training session.

In total, the Rabbitohs notched up 15 offloads to the North Queensland Cowboys three with one key offload resulting in a try for five-eighth Cody Walker.

It bodes well for the Rabbitohs that they still back themselves to play entertaining football even in trying weather.

Burrowing through

While the Rabbitohs didn't have fluidity in attack they would have hoped for they still put themselves in the position to strike with a solid six line breaks.

Both fullback Alex Johnston and winger Campbell Graham notched up two with Cody Walker and Robert Jennings also chiming in with the latter producing a clutch move to level the scores late on.

Making it stick

The Rabbitohs defence may have been breached by two pin-point Johnathan Thurston kicks but made sure they weren't going to miss a beat when it came to being effective in the tackle.

Making 337 tackles and missing just 30 as a collective the Rabbitohs were 90.8% effective in the tackle.

Another defensive has to go towards back rower Angus Crichton who made a strong 35 tackles and missed none of them in an dominate 80-minute performance.

The one point that made it two

At the end of the day, it was the only stat that mattered with Adam Reynolds' 30-metre field goal effort sending the Red and Green on their way to their eighth straight victory.

After missing his attempt from even further back the number 7 brushed off the disappointment to send the balling over at the second attempt.
