St Mary's Primary School Spreading The Word

St Mary’s Primary School in Casino, represented by Rabbitohs Champion Nicole Hammond, has won our Rabbit Hunter competition by spreading the word about the Rabbitohs Champions program to the most number of people in 2017.

In 2017, the Rabbitohs had over 100 Rabbitohs Champions involved in distributing over 12,000 Champion packs to schools and clubs across NSW.

The Rabbitohs playing squad will now run an exclusive training clinic for students at St Marys Primary School to reward them for their hard work.

“We are very excited about this opportunity that the South Sydney Rabbitohs will provide for our St Mary's Casino kids,” said Principal John O’Brien.

“Over the past few years we have built an affiliation with the Rabbitohs through ex-Casino star Cody Walker. This opportunity will further strengthen that bond and enable our country kids the opportunity to rub shoulders with their favourite NRL stars.”

Heidi McDonald, also from St Marys, won a random draw prize for entering and received tickets to a Rabbitohs home game in 2018 and a signed 2017 jersey.

Generously, she’s passed the prize on to her 12-year old daughter Savannah.

“I started liking the Rabbitohs because my poppy liked them. I used to lay under my pop’s Rabbitohs blanket from when I was a baby and now I'm 12,” said Savannah.

“My favourite player is Cody Walker because he came to my school a few times and he is a really good player.”

The Rabbitohs Champion Program will continue in 2018, providing more fundraising opportunites for schools and clubs, giveaways, heavily discounted tickets, merchandise and membership offerings and new educational programs.
