Souths Cares Oral Health Tour

Roy Asotasi and Beau Champion arrived in Dubbo today as part of Souths Cares continued commitment to improving Oral Health in New South Wales with the support of the NSW Government Centre for Oral Health Strategy, Colgate and The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health.

“Our Indigenous Oral Health Program has engaged more than 8000 young people in Oral Health Promotion and dental screenings since its inception in 2013 - our recently extended partnership with the NSW Government will see an additional 3000 young people in regional areas be part of the program,” said Souths Cares General Manager Brock Schaefer.

“The Program was a finalist for Excellence in Collaboration at the recent SIMNA Awards and has consistently achieved more than 3:1 social return on investment for our community.”

Participants in the program will participate in an interactive lesson on Good Oral Heath with Souths Cares Ambassadors Beau Champion and Roy Asotasi before participating in Oral Health screenings and an NRL Development Clinic.

“A key element in our program is the power of the Bunny and the power of our Ambassadors. Young People are engaged through the popularity of the Rabbitohs and the advocacy of Beau and Roy to practice good oral health,” continued Schaefer.

“We are looking forward to making a real contribution to the health of young people over the next 4 days and thank our amazing partners for their support.”

Souths Cares will visit Dubbo, Bourke, Brewarrina and Coonamble over the next four days.
