South Sydney have announced their team SG Ball (under 18s) team to take on the Illawarra Steelers this Saturday in the competition’s Preliminary Final at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The Matt King-coached Rabbitohs come into the match having downed the much-fancied Parramatta Eels in torrid conditions last week to now find themselves just one win away from a Grand Final appearance.
“The boys showed immense composure in the conditions,” said King speaking to Rabbitohs.com.au.
“Led by Cam Murray, they adapted well and still managed to play the game with finals-intensity to come away with the win.
“It’s easy to move away from what you’ve practiced in situations like the ones we faced today, but the boys showed tremendous focus and mental toughness to stick to the plan.
“That’s what we’ll now be looking to build on for our next game.”
A proud King has urged the Rabbitohs faithful to throw their support behind his young-guns as they go in search of a Grand Final berth next week at Campbelltown Stadium.
“We’ve had fantastic support throughout the season from Members and supporters, and we need that now more than ever,” said King.
“That support really does mean a lot to the boys, so get your Red and Green on and head out to Campbelltown Stadium and help the boys over the line against the Steelers.”
