Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Owner Rick Penn has today generously matched the total amount raised for Bear Cottage.
Encouraged by the incredible support the Sea Eagles players and staff have received from Manly supporters and the community in general, Penn said it was the least he could do to help a wonderful charity group like Bear Cottage, the only children’s hospice in NSW.
Located in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Bear Cottage is a very special place that is dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Led by Captain Daly Cherry-Evans, the players shaves their heads on Thursday to help raise funds for Bear Cottage. They also donated $10,000 from the Club for winning the $100,000 NRL Pre-season Challenge last week.
"What our players and staff have been able to achieve in just one week of fundraising is certainly inspiring,'' Penn said.
"There is such a very good feeling of positivity and happiness throughout the Club and amongst our Members and supporters.

"When I saw the amount raised, I was just so proud. I am more than happy to match the total amount raised on behalf of the Penn family."
At the time of this article, more than $38,000 has been raised.
