Reynolds – We’re Better for the Experience

Rabbitohs and New South Wales halfback, Adam Reynolds, is looking forward to hitting the ground running in his second Origin camp this week, as he and his Blues look to level the 2016 Series at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday.

An enthusiastic, new-look NSW spine, comprising of Reynolds, James Maloney, Matt Moylan and Robbie Farah, took to the field in Game I in Sydney only to go down to the Maroons by two points.

But with the benefit of a game under their belt together, the largely untested back-bone of the team – including the halves pairing of Reynolds and Maloney – will only get better according to the Rabbitoh.

“I think it will definitely be better,” said Reynolds.

“In Game I, we sort of got in the camp, came up with a game-plan – now we can hit the ground running. We definitely know each other a lot more and we’re a lot more comfortable around each other along with Matty Moylan and (Robbie Farah) as well there.

“Having had Game I, I’m pretty sure we’ll come out the other end better for it.”

Reynolds has been struck by the speed of State of Origin, citing the need for quicker thinking and more meaningful evasive action, particularly around his kicking.

“Everything happens at a quicker pace in attack and in defence,” said Reynolds.

“The defensive line’s on you a lot quicker than in an NRL game and obviously the kick-pressure – being a halfback and kicking – is a lot greater.

“I don’t think there was a kick there where I didn’t get put on my back-side. That’s what I expected before the game and it definitely came true.”
